About the Course
The Graphic Design course equips students with essential skills in
visual communication, focusing on design principles, typography,
color theory, and layout. Using industry-standard tools such as
CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator, students gain
hands-on experience creating designs for both print and digital media.
The course prepares learners for creative careers where visual
storytelling, branding, and design thinking are essential.
Teaching Methodology
Our teaching approach emphasizes practical, hands-on learning through
real-world projects and creative workshops. Interactive lectures on
design fundamentals are combined with critiques, portfolio reviews,

Weeks 1–4: CorelDRAW Fundamentals
- Introduction to graphic design concepts
- Understanding the CorelDRAW interface and tools
- Vector graphics and object creation
- Object manipulation and transformation
- Color modes, text tools, and typography
- Advanced vector illustration techniques
- Special effects and advanced CorelDRAW features
Assignments & Projects: Digital collage creation,
poster design, professional logo design, restaurant menu layout,
product packaging redesign, business collateral design, and brochure
creation for local businesses.
Weeks 5–8: Adobe Photoshop Advanced Skills
- Photoshop interface and image fundamentals
- Image resolution, size, and color modes
- Photo retouching and enhancement
- Selection tools and advanced compositing
- Layer management and special effects
- Creative image editing and visual storytelling
Assignments & Projects: Photo retouching, product
advertisement composites, album cover design, merchandise mockups,
sports event poster design, and a final branding project combining
CorelDRAW and Photoshop.
Final Project
Students develop a complete visual branding package, including a
logo, business card, brochure, and social media graphics. The project
integrates skills learned in both CorelDRAW and Adobe Photoshop and
serves as a portfolio-ready showcase.
